Covid-19 Update – 13 April 2020

April 13, 2020

We would like to inform you in this latest update about some of the things our team at The Vet Whetstone are doing to support our clients during this Covid-19 outbreak. The health and well-being of our Patients, Clients and our Team remain our main priority and we shall keep you updated whenever anything changes.

We continue to monitor and respond to the Government Advice on Covid-19 and the Professional Guidance of the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons (RCVS) and the British Veterinary Association (BVA) focussing on Emergency/Urgent care.

New Video Consultation Service

We understand that many of our clients may have concerns about supporting their Pet’s health during this Coronavirus outbreak whilst we are all being restricted and isolated.  For this reason, we have recently launched our New Video Consultation Service. This technology enables our Vets to monitor and update treatment for pets already under our care.

If you have any concern about your Pet’s health but you don’t think it’s urgent or an emergency, click here to Book a Video Consultation to make use of this new Service and or, phone us – 020 8368 9798 during our Opening Hours to arrange the Video Consultation Appointment.

Client Procedure to follow if your Pet is required to attend a Consultation in our Clinic Premises during this Covid-19 outbreak

If you are advised by one of our Vets or Nurses, that your Pet needs to be seen at our Clinic – to minimise the risk of spreading the Coronavirus – an appointment time will have been made for you and you will be advised to bring your pet to our Clinic’s front entrance door, where one of our Team will collect your Pet from you.  Please phone – 020 8368 9798 on arrival at the Clinic, as we currently do not admit more than one Pet into the Clinic at any one time.  We shall ask you to wait outside for the Vet to examine your pet and once examined, the Vet will phone you to advise the recommendations.  You will be phoned when your Pet is ready to be collected from us.

Medication/Prescriptions:

Please phone us to speak to one of our Vets – 020 8368 9798 to discuss repeat medication/prescriptions for your Pet, which will be available on a case by case basis.

Worming tablets, flea treatments and food:

We recommend regular flea and worming treatments in order to keep your Pet healthy.  If you need to order more, please call – 020 8368 9798.  Pet food can also be supplied – please phone us with your requirements.  Please bear with us – as the process for collection or delivery may be different at this time. (Flea and worming treatments are available providing we have examined your pet within the last 12 months).

Payments:

Currently all payments are required to be made over the phone by Credit or Debit Card – due to the Covid-19 Outbreak we are not able to accept cash payments at this time.  (Amex Cards are not accepted)

We’ve also written hints and tips and things to consider while you’re at home with your Pet.  This includes exercise techniques for your pet which will help to manage their weight and includes the importance of mental stimulation during this period of isolation.  Click here for more information.
